I tried using the Zone by Phone service on this website and was threatened with violence upon entering the conference by a rough sounding woman. I was having technical issues and was momentarily unable to transmit my voice with the electronic talking device™ . Is civility so much to ask for?
hmmm, i don't see any reason why you were threatened with violence. and when you say violence, what type of violence do you mean?. if it was just someone getting frustrated that you were having problems in the confrence, then i guess that's understandable. what i'd do in that situation is log in to the site, find someone who has zone by phone access, go to a private confrence together and test to see if it is working and then enter the public confrence. i can't really believe anyone would have acted worse than being anoyed. violence on zone by phone is definetly not common, in fact, it hardly ever happens at all.
My first suggestion would be to lighten up a bit. Lots of people come into conferences for the sole purpose of lurking and not talking, which then takes up a spot that someone who wants to talk could use. So chances are, people thought you weren't interested in talking. (Although I'm curious who the rough-sounding woman was, LOL)!
Maybe try sending a voicemail to see if your technology's set up and working properly. You can record a voicemail, then review it before you send it to see if there's any sound.

I've never had problems on ZBP except for that night a few weekends back when the Washington line kept giving me a busy signal.

I am the "rough sounding woman" he spoke of in his post. First of all on zone by phone usually there is a conference that is full due to the people who enjoy one another's company. I have seen lurkers on both zzone by phone and it's former ventrilo server. At that time, I thought this dude or what ever it is was one of those type of people. If you wanted to be considerate, you could have tested your sound before coming into a conf where you might have been thought of as a lurker. For the record, I am a dude not a woman. Granted I am a dude of the homosexual kind, but a dude all the same. I didn't threaten you with violence. I don't even know you from a toilit of shit, so why would I threaten you with violence? Anyway though. Fix your audio, fix your attitude, fix, your perception, and you will be just fine.

I've never talked to Aaron before, but I've heard plenty about him from people who have. hahahaha! I've also heard his voice on an olumpis recording. I don't even think he sounds like a rough sounding woman. lmaolmaolmao! ZBP is crazy. I don't go on it very much for that reason, but nobody's going to hurt you. lol.
